SAT Preparation Guide—Lotus Education Point
The SAT is now a digital, adaptive test designed to be more streamlined and student-friendly. At Lotus Education Point, we’re here to help you navigate these changes and prepare effectively for the new digital SAT.
Digital SAT?
The digital SAT is a computer-based test that assesses your skills in:
The test is shorter (2 hours and 14 minutes instead of 3 hours) and features adaptive testing, meaning the difficulty of questions adjusts based on your performance. The scoring scale remains the same (400–1600), combining the Reading/Writing and Math sections.
Key Changes in the Digital SAT
- Digital Format: The test is taken on a computer or tablet (provided at the testing center or brought by the student if approved).
- Adaptive Testing: Each section is divided into two modules. Your performance in the first module determines the difficulty of questions in the second module.
- Shorter Test Duration: The test is now 2 hours and 14 minutes long.
- Calculator Use: A calculator is allowed for the entire Math section (built into the digital interface).
- Reading and Writing Combined: These sections are now integrated into one, with shorter passages and one question per passage.
- Faster Results: Scores are available in days instead of weeks.
